Ross Doehrmann, DO

Dr. Doehrmann is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon specializing in shoulder & elbow surgery.

Dr. Doehrmann grew up in Williamsburg, Iowa and went on to obtain his undergraduate degree from Central College while also being a member of the Dutch football team. Staying close to home, he then earned his medical degree from Des Moines University where he was recognized for his academic achievements and service to the community by being inducted into the Sigma Sigma Phi Honor Medical Society and the Gold Humanism Honor Society. Upon graduating, Dr. Doehrmann went on to complete an orthopaedic surgery residency at Michigan State University’s Macomb-Oakland campus. He then relocated to Houston, Texas to complete his fellowship training in complex shoulder and elbow surgery, honing his skills under the tutelage of T. Bradley Edwards and several other distinguished leaders in orthopaedic surgery.

Dr. Doehrmann has a particular interest in treating patients with shoulder and elbow pain and is one of the few surgeons in Iowa with formal training in complex shoulder arthroplasty. He treats patients of all ages with conditions such as rotator cuff injuries, shoulder arthritis, rotator cuff arthropathy, labral tears, shoulder instability, biceps tendonitis, elbow tendon and ligament injuries, and elbow arthritis. He has written textbook chapters and published articles in the field and has presented orthopedic research at several conferences.

Returning home to Iowa has always been the goal for Dr. Doehrmann. He spends much of his free time with his wife, young daughter, and golden retriever. Together, they enjoy the outdoors, personal fitness, cheering on the beloved Hawkeyes, and the comradery of many friends & family in the area.
